A320 Base Training

Number of landings and condition

The aeroplane training (Base Flight) may be completed after the trainee pilot has completed the FSTD training and has successfully undertaken the A320 Type Rating skill test.

There are 2 Base Training types :
1/One for an applicant for whom it is a first type rating course for a multi pilot aeroplane, or with less than 500 hours of multi pilot aeroplane experience on aeroplanes of similar size and performance
2/One for an applicant for whom it is an additional type rating course and for an applicant with more than 500 hours of multi aeroplane experience in aeroplanes of similar size and performance ;
Last part of an EASA A320 Type Rating. According to the AIRCREW AMC 2 ORA ATO 125 multi-pilot aeroplanes, captain or first officer with:
-more than 500 hours MP(A) experience in aeroplanes of similar
will follow an A320 Base Training including 4 landings of which at least.



Bad weather constraints


For the Base Flight as with all training flight, IFR minima are increased by 50 percent.
TRI should decide the minimum condition for conducting visual circuits.
In any case the weather will be at least :
-Ceilling 2 000 ft
-Visibility 5 000 m
-Circling minima if published

In case of bad weather the Base Flight will be reported.
